When our safari
cruised into the "abandoned zone" it was like discovering a tropical rain forest framed in iron. From freeway frenzy to instant jungle in one sharp turn onto bumpy backwater roads. We were less than a mile from the Memphis skyline, but we were a world away from Memphis. Here in these woods, near the old pre-Civil War dueling grounds, a person could get lost forever.
